Features

  • ROUND IDE 18INCH ATA 133/100 CABLE FOR HDD/CD/DVD-ROM
  • Clear Silver Color
  • Make them smaller and in turn make your case be cooler (in both senses of the word). First the appearance issue. Rounded cables are incredibly aesthetically pleasing for some reason or other. Maybe because the flat IDE ribbons just look dull, I mean gray isn't the most exciting color (not even a color actually). Rounded cables give the whole thing a more meaningful look and make people want to stare through that plexiglass/vinyl window.
  • The cooling perspective is the other biggie and in my opinion the most important. No matter how many fans you have inside your case, air simply can't travel THROUGH your ribbons, only around them. And a flat cable is the worst: little volume with lots of surface area. Think of it this way. You throw two pieces of paper off a ledge. One is crumpled up, one is flat. Neglect wind factor. Which one falls faster? The crumpled one of course because it provides for less resistance. Same idea here: rounded cables provide less resistance and therefore more air can travel faster. Which all translates into a cooler rig without any additional fans/heatsinks.
  • Round IDE cables offer the following advantages: (1) Keep your system cooler by reducing restriction to airflow. (2) Keep your system neat inside. (3) The vinyl boots and wrap protect the wires from accidental damage from sharp objects. (4) They look cool!
  • Replace your old style ribbon cables with high quality rounded cables. These cables are highly flexible allowing you to easily achieve complex drive configurations that would be impossible with rigid ribbon cables. Rounded cables also improve the airflow within your case, allowing air to flow around the cables easily and get straight to your processor and other heat generating devices.
